Winter has come, and it is indeed glorious!
Glorious? But we are all snowed in! There’s ice on the streets, and it’s so cold out!
Yes, that may be true. And I truly sympathize with those that must go out and drive on hazardous roads. But there is so much more to winter. Winter is a time, traditionally, for us to reflect upon ourselves, to cozy up into our snug places, with our family around us, and our memories percolating into fermented delight. It is a time to finish craft projects, do indoor repairs, and play board games.
Have you spent time with your family this winter? Have you enjoyed your down time? I hope you have. Each winter is a treasure.
And have you looked outside into the wondrous beauty of the white world? The wind blows and tiny snowflakes sparkle in the sun. Harsh contour shadows caress the crystal-clad hills in amorphous fantasy designs. The tracks of woodland creatures can be seen exploring this winter wonderland.
Most of us have little time to enjoy the beauty and wonder of our lives. Take some time, savor the wonder that has been created all around us. Do not waste the rosy dawn.
