  2. Last summer, I stayed 30 days in Dungloe and 28 in Rathmullan. I played all 19 Donegal golf courses. I’ve seen 9 of the 12, missing the two waterfalls and Carrickfin Beach. Last year was a cool, wet summer. I hope I get the chance to stay there again. I’m playing in two golf tournaments this summer – Donegal Links Classic – Ballyliffin, Portsalon and Rosapenna! Also, Causeway Coast tournament – Ballyliffin, Portrush Valley, Castlerock, and Ballycastle. Also, visited Skellig Michael last summer! What a year!

  3. My daughter and her husband and children live in Derry (quite a distance from us, here in Cork) and we often meet up somewhere in Donegal (last year it was Ardara) I totally agree with you, it’s an amazing county – beautiful views, friendly people and a fabulous coastline.

    • How wonderful! Cork is beautiful, too. I truly enjoyed a day of exploring the Ring of Beara. I stopped at a random forest, we walked through the path, found a deer flirting with us, and when we got to the top of the hill (with the help of some locals walking their dog), we found not one, but TWO stone circles!

      • That was certainly worth the effort. We live in east Cork near the Waterford border but often visit west cork. Last year we spent a few days on the Beara peninsula. Loved it, been there five or six times over the years and will probably go again this summer.

  4. Indeed it was – Some day I’ll make it back. Oddly enough, I’ve never been to Cork city… also on my list! And I’m probably one of the few tourists to go to Ireland and never visit Blarney Castle.
