The first book, The Fisherman, is a high-seas adventure novel set during the Prohibition. It’s about Daniel Constantin, the son of a Basque fisherman, but he hates the water. He gets a job on a rum running ship for a promised fortune to earn his father’s respect and win the heart of the woman he loves.

.

The second, A Crowded Loneliness is a story based on my friend’s experiences. She was born in Cuba during the Revolution and was sent to the U.S. in 1961 at 9 years old as part of a mass-exodus called Operation Peter Pan. The dark-skinned little girl was sent to an orphanage in New Orleans—in the Jim Crow Deep South before the Civil Rights Act.

.

The third is the story of my 102-year-old friend, Gladys Dubovsky, titled W.H. Auden, Poetry, and Me. In 1940, she took a poetry class at the New School in New York City that was taught by the famous poet W.H. Auden. He picked her poem out of 250 students to discuss privately. He gave her advice not only on poetry, but life in general. After that class, I found their lives paralleled in so many ways. Spanning the early 1930s to today, the story deals with such subjects as war, love, family, loss, homosexuality, pain, and triumph. This is the story of a woman who has faced adversity with humor and grace, and of the famous poet she loved. Through it all, Gladys bestows pearls of wisdom that only a 102-year-old can give.

.

She is in the process of getting her books published in brick and mortar stores like Barnes & Noble, independent bookstores, and libraries through Fogbow Books, LLC.

.

Please feel free to post a review and share this with your friends.

Celtic Fairies, Fables, and Folklore! Bestselling author (top #100 Amazon Canada, #1 in Paranormal Fantasy, Amazon Canada) Christy Nicholas, also known as Green Dragon, is an author, artist and accountant. After she failed to become an airline pilot, she quit her ceaseless pursuit of careers that begin with 'A', and decided to concentrate on her writing. Since she has Project Completion Disorder, she is one of the few authors with NO unfinished novels. Christy has her hands in many crafts, including digital art, beaded jewelry, writing, and photography. In real life, she's a CPA, but having grown up with art all around her (her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are/were all artists), it sort of infected her, as it were. She wants to expose the incredible beauty in this world, hidden beneath the everyday grime of familiarity and habit, and share it with others. She uses characters out of time and places infused with magic and myth. Combine this love of beauty with a bit of financial sense and you get an art business. She does local art and craft shows, as well as sending her art to various science fiction conventions throughout the country and abroad.
