In an increasingly digital world, literature is evolving. Sales of e-readers continue to rise, yet the cost of digital books and texts has not necessarily decreased to the extent to which many initially predicted. Thanks for link. I have a niece who loves dragons and I recommended Anne McCaffrey, who I know you personally met. My sister took her to the local Barnes & Noble in FTL and all they had was a 50th anniversary book of the Dragons of Pern (written by her daughter, I think) yet they didn’t have the original in stock. When she went to the counter to order it online (she had a gift card from Christmas) they only listed three and the original wasn’t of them.
What book would you recommend for a 12 year old that loves dragons, surely the Green Dragon will know some good reads…

Let’s see… Of course, I loved the Pern books. Eragon is another option. The Xanth books by Piers Anthony has some dragons and they are chock full of puns, something I adored when I was 12. Naomi Novik’s Temaraire series might be a good fit.

As far as the Pern books – I started with Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums, which is a great way for a younger reader to start, in my opinion. They are smaller and a bit off the main story line but designed to appeal to younger readers.
