The long drive has begun. I had to work today so we didn’t get on the road until late afternoon. It’s a 13!hour drive from my house in western NY to Atlanta but we got about 5 under our belt before we stopped for tonight.
Of course we had to stop three times. Once for gas and twice for shoes. Shoes? Yes, shoes. My darling husband forgot to get new shoes and his old ones were dying. He didn’t find what he needed the first time.
We started out listening to a new book – Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett – but the audio wasn’t loud enough to be heard over highway noise. I missed one third of the words when the narrators voice dipped low. So we switched to Storm Front by Jim Butcher, an old favorite. That way, if I miss words, it doesn’t matter.
