This cover has strong iconography, limited color scheme, and definitely genre-specific. However, I think there’s too much going on. The center symbol (s) has the phoenix, star, and circle, as well as blue lightning. That’s fine. Add a strong title and author name. Then there’s the name of the series, fine – and the bird symbol. But the corner embellishments, in my opinion, just crowd this too much. If they were 1/3 the size, it would make this much less crowded. Or even gone completely.
