Sometimes, a limited color palette is too much of a good thing. I think this cover is a demonstration of that. There isn’t enough contrast to make this amazing image pop at thumbnail size, even though it’s gorgeous, intriguing, and compelling. I like the font, but I don’t like the non-centered spacing. It needs to be darker to stand out. Also, the author name below is blue while everything else is gold/brown, which is jarring me. Now, if the eyes were blue, that would make them pop AND tie in the author name into the image, maybe with a few hints of blue on the gears/design around it.
